Chris Miller is a 1995 graduate of MHS
and is excited to be back at his alma mater. He is happily married
to his wife Mindy of five years. Together they have two children,
Madison and Owen. Chris earned his Bachelor’s in Vocal Performance
from USD in Vermillion and is finishing up an additional degree in
Music Education. He is an in demand vocalist and guitarist with
performance credits that include 2 seasons as a singer/guitar player
with Valleyfair Amusement Park Live Shows. You may have seen him
perform with several regional bands over the past decade which
include Groove Juice, Spooncat!, The Solano Lopez Orchestra, The
Dispensers, The Austin Buescher Band, and Go Figure. Chris also
performs several acoustic shows with his friend and fellow MHS
teacher Ryan Stahle. Other musical endeavors include co-directing
the 2006 Mount Marty College production of “Nunsense Jamboree”,
assisting with the MHS Marching Band, show choir arrangements for
Mitchell High School and Boyden-Hull School, teaching private
lessons, and adjudicating regional high school vocal contests.

Pit Band
Directors: Ryan Stahle, Allen Remily Ryan Stahle
is the director of bands at MHS. He is a 1992 graduate of MHS and
loves being back in Mitchell. He attended college at the University
of South Dakota and graduated with a bachelor’s of music education.
After leaving college, he moved to Minneapolis and taught in the
“burbs” for three years. He and his wife moved back to Sioux Falls
in 2000 and he briefly joined some friends at an interactive media
firm. He accepted the job at MHS in 2003. He and his wife, Nicole,
have two kids, Hunter and Atlanta.
Allen Remily is in his sixth year of teaching in the Mitchell School
District. Besides heading up the vocal music department at the
middle school as choir and show choir director, Remily assists with
senior high marching band, middle school track, middle school
musical and senior high show choir pit band. He is a 1991 Mount
Marty College graduate where he graduated summa cum laude with a BA
in music education. Previously, Remily has taught in the Wessington
Springs and Yankton School Districts as both an instrumental and
vocal music instructor. He was recognized in 1995 with a
Distinguished Educator Award from the Wessington Springs School
District and that same year was named the Region One Track and Field
Assistant Coach of the Year. In 2005, Remily was named the Mitchell
School District’s Teacher of the Year and presently serves as the
music director for Holy Family Catholic Church in Mitchell. The
oldest of six children, Remily hails from Britton, SD where his
mother still lives and teaches. He is a proud uncle to four nephews
and one niece and enjoys spending time with his family.
