Mitchell High School Show Choir - "Friend de Coup"  (Friends take over)

Friend de Coup is under the direction of Chris Miller, Mitchell High School alumnus, is choreographed by Stephen Todd and arranged by Heath Ewing, both MHS alumni. The show pit is directed by Ryan Stahle, an MHS alumnus, and Allen Remily.

Friend de Coup has been in existence since 1984 and is comprised of 54 singer/dancers, 12 pit members, and 5 traveling tech crew members and 7 members of the home tech crew.

During the 2007-2008 competition season, Friend de Coup competed its way to three Grand Champion titles.  Top honors were received at the Omaha Westside Competition of Excellence in Omaha, Nebraska; Westwood Jubilation in Sloan, Iowa and Quad State Show Choir Competition in Sioux City, Iowa.  The group also earned 4th place at the Swingin' on the River in Hastings, Minnesota.

Friend de Coup meets outside of the school day on Tuesday, and Thursday evenings with occasional Saturday practices.  Along with the competition show and the competition season, the students put on an annual winter show, Up With Show, that runs for three nights during the first part of December; an annual week long Dinner Theatre in April; and we host our own annual Show Choir Classic, a competition held at the “World’s Only Corn Palace” in March.
